About the PCC

The Pro-Choice Caucus is a coalition of members of the U.S. House of Representatives who are working to preserve, protect and advance policies that ensure reproductive autonomy for all people. The caucus serves as the first line of defense against anti-abortion legislation, while also advancing a proactive vision of affordable, accessible reproductive health care for all. We won't let extreme, anti-choice politicians roll back the clock on Americans’ reproductive rights.

Since the 1990s, the Pro-Choice Caucus has been a leading voice on a broad range of issues that come before the House of Representatives, including contraception, family planning, abortion, preventive health care services, international reproductive rights, access to health care clinics, and biomedical research. In today’s Congress, the caucus is charting a legislative course forward to advance reproductive health and justice, while continuing to provide a bulwark against ongoing attacks to our constitutionally guaranteed reproductive rights.

Our members believe that now, more than ever, strong leadership is needed to protect and expand policies on these critical issues. For the first time in history, we have both a pro-choice majority in Congress and a pro-choice president. While, at the same time, our right to reproductive care has never been in greater jeopardy, requiring us to fend off near-constant attacks to the legality and accessibility of abortion care throughout the country, at both the state and federal level.

The Pro-Choice Caucus has a long history of standing up against adversity, as our members are united by the belief that every person – regardless of where they live, where they’re from, or how much money they make – should have the freedom to decide what’s best for them when it comes to their reproductive health. We won't let extreme, anti-choice politicians roll back the clock on Americans’ reproductive rights.
