WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Representative Diana DeGette (D-CO) and Representative Barbara Lee (D-CA), Co-Chairs of the Congressional Pro-Choice Caucus, released the following statement:

“As Co-Chairs of the Congressional Pro-Choice Caucus, we share President Biden’s vision of a nation where access to reproductive health care is protected, where patient safety is safeguarded. As the President said last night, it is Congress’ job to restore the protections of Roe v. Wade. But we will not stop there. Roe was never the end; it was always the beginning. And to our Republican colleagues—you heard it directly from the President last night. If you try to pass a harmful, draconian nationwide abortion ban, not only will you face the court of public opinion, but it will be vetoed and sent right back. House Democrats and the Pro-Choice Caucus look forward to continuing to work together with President Biden and Vice President Harris to do what the people elected us to do: protect and expand reproductive freedom and abortion access across the country, for every person in America.”
