It’s been almost 50 years since the Supreme Court ruled in Roe v. Wade, holding that women have the right to decide whether or not to have an abortion. We’re now living through the culmination of decades of efforts to use the states and the courts to roll back those rights for some Americans.

The House passed legislation, 218-211, on Friday that, if enacted, would broadly expand the scope of abortion rights.
